Your money story has rules about how you make more money.
Rather listen? Here you go »
A money story puts guardrails on where the money will come from, what you’ll have to do to create it, who will buy from you and which income opportunities deserve your attention.
Once you’ve believed something about money long enough, you start making plans around it. You rarely stop mid-revenue goal and say, Hang on. Who decided this was the only way I get to make more money?
I uncovered exactly that while delivering a Money Uplevel VIP Intensive last week with a client making $250K a year, who came to me to double her revenue.
She has an established audience and an extensive library of successful offers. She also knows the people who have followed her for years like buying new things from her.
True.
The money story running her income was: “If I want to make more, I need to keep creating something new for the people already in my audience.”
That money story keeps her in constant creation. It keeps the size of her audience minimized. And it puts excellent offers she’s already created on the sidelines while she invests significant time creating the next thing.
Which is a very expensive rule when your goal is to double your revenue.
For example, one of her courses had enrolled 24 women, with five going on to join her certification. A 20% conversion into a much bigger offer tells me her money story had her looking right past a proven income opportunity.
She had dismissed the course as an income opportunity. I wanted it back on the table.
Clearly, that course deserved a much bigger role in her income strategy. She had already done the hard work of creating something people wanted and proving it could lead clients into her certification. Her money story had her chasing what she could create next instead of fully valuing what she had already created.
Here’s the big takeaway: it doesn’t take long for one part of your money story to write itself into your revenue strategy without ever being asked to prove itself.
And once it does, perfectly good money opportunities become easy to dismiss.
That’s why I want you to get a little nosier about the assumptions underneath your next income goal.
What if the offers you’ve already created have significantly more income potential?
Who hasn’t seen your work yet?
Where is your money story dictating how you make more money?
And here’s the question I especially want you asking:
What have I decided is “just how money works” when it comes to making more money in my business?
That’s the one I’d put under a bright light.
You may discover that the next significant income opportunity in your business doesn’t require another creation from you. It requires a different belief about where more money gets to come from.
This is the money coaching we’re doing inside Feminine Money Mastery™ Gold.
When you’re ready to create significantly more money, I want us looking at the money story underneath the numbers. The beliefs setting the guardrails. The assumptions influencing what you see as possible. And the ones that have been running the show for long enough.
Gold is my new money mentoring program for women entrepreneurs who want to make significantly more money, create substantial savings, eliminate debt, and pay themselves generously without working more hours.
